Well-child visits
It’s important to make regular visits to your pediatrician’s office when your child is well. Children are more likely to tolerate an examination and routine assessments when they are healthy. A well-child visit is also a chance for your pediatrician to observe your child’s behavior and development. Talk with your doctor to determine how often to visit. Newborns and infants should be seen more often. At age 3, your provider may recommend moving to annual exams.
Well-child service may include:
- Height and weight check
- Skin check
- Heart and lung check
- Vaccinations at recommended ages
- Time to talk with your child's pediatrician
